Copenhagen Diet – Day 10

9 down, 4 to go!

Weight lost: 13.8 lb

The end is in sight! I am definitely pleased with the results so far, but I am looking forward to getting to a healthier, long term lifestyle plan.

Here it is:

Day 10:

Breakfast – I skipped the bread because I wasn’t hungry.

Lunch – A big salad with lettuce, ham and boiled eggs with lemon juice and olive oil.

Dinner – Instead of soup I had a tomato and an apple.

Copenhagen Diet – Day 9

8 down, 5 to go!

Weight lost – 11.2 lb

I have found that I am feeling increasingly dizzy as the diet progresses and in the process this is hindering my work quality. The weight loss is fantastic and all, but I won’t be embarking on this detox in the future.

Here it is:

Day 9:

Breakfast – Tea

Lunch – Ham and yoghurt

Dinner – Steak and lettuce with lemon juice and olive oil.

Copenhagen Diet – Day 8

7 down, 6 to go! Woohoo!

Weight lost – 11.2 lb

Crikey… What a roller coaster ride this week has been. Don’t get me wrong, I love how much weight has dropped in such a short time, but honestly, I am feeling run down, tired and lightheaded.

Before embarking on this detox, take into account that it is not a healthy diet option and is merely a short term solution.

Day 8:

Breakfast – Beanies chocolate coffee

Lunch – Boiled eggs, spinach and tomato.

Dinner – Steak and lettuce with olive oil and lemon.

Copenhagen Diet – Day 7

6 down, 7 to go!

Weight lost: 9.6 lb

Alright, alright, alright! Day seven is here. Holy moly! Let’s do it!

Here’s a lowdown on what I’m embarking on:

Day 7:

Breakfast: Coffee

Lunch: Tea and water and lots of rest…

Dinner: STEAK and an apple

Please do not attempt this if your health is in any way compromised! This is not intended to be a long term solution and as a nutritionist I do not advocate for this plan as a healthy diet option. This is merely a detox and personal experiment.

Copenhagen Diet – Day 6

5 down, 8 to go!

Weight lost – 9.8 lb.

So far, so good! Definitely feeling tired today and I have a bit of a headache, but nothing a bit of rest won’t cure.

Although I am enjoying being on this detox, I miss the freedom of deciding what my meals should be. Once this is over, planning my own meals and incorporating a variety of vegetables, fats and protein will be a real joy.

Here is the detox in a nutshell:

Day 6:

Breakfast – Toast and tea

Lunch – A hard boiled egg and carrot

Dinner – Chicken with a lettuce salad

Copenhagen Diet – Day 5

4 days down, 9 to go!

Weight loss – 7.8 pounds down!

As a nearly 30 year old, I, like so many other women walking in my shoes, have tried diet after diet to find the right fit. Ultimately I love keto or a similar low carb option, but this time I was having difficulty with self control. As a nutritionist I know what is good and what isn’t, I have advised clients on the best eating regime for their body type and written countless plans, but I just couldn’t bounce back from my lull.

Enter, the Copenhagen Diet. This is a detox to beat all detoxes. Hectic, strict and really challenging, but worth it! I am down 7.8 pounds and feeling really good. Now, I cannot advocate for this diet/detox as a solution, but I am embarking on the challenge.

Here is what it entails:

Day 5:

Breakfast – Black tea

Lunch – I had salmon sashimi as we went out for lunch for a friend’s birthday. I also had sparkling water with a slice of lemon.

Dinner – Steak with lettuce and celery, dressed with apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.

Notes:

– Definitely needed a lie-down today after quite a vigorous morning and afternoon.

– Feeling super positive and my clothes are really starting to fit a bit better which I love!

Copenhagen Diet – Day 4

3 down, 10 to go!

Weight loss – 7.2 lb

There’s something quite interesting about embarking on a detox; the longer you do it, the more you love it. My body is definitely reacting to this plan, over 7 pounds down! Weight loss is always a perk, but other aspects have improved too. Sleep, overall confidence and my mood has stabilized. Although it is only thirteen days, it is a good kick starter and motivation for a healthy eating plan after it’s complete.

Disclaimer: As a nutritionist I have embarked on this detox as a personal kickstart program. I do not advocate for this diet as a lifestyle as it is very low in calories and doesn’t contain sufficient nutrients to be sustainable long term. This is only intended to be used by healthy adults.

Here is a lowdown on the detox:

Day 4:

Breakfast – Tea and a slice of protein bread.

Lunch – An apple and fat-free yogurt.

Dinner – A hard boiled egg, carrot and labneh.

Notes:

– I drink tea and coffee through the day to keep up my energy. It has in no way affected my weight loss, so continuing with that.

Copenhagen Diet – Day 3

2 down, 11 to go!

Weight loss: 7 lb

So far, so good! The most important thing when embarking on a diet or detox is to push through the ‘adjustment’ period. This usually lasts about two days and is the trickiest part.

One of the initial problems faced was my lack of energy. Today, however, seems to be a different story altogether! I have a lot of energy and feeling a great sense of calm. My body is really functioning well and definitely looking forward to the results through this plan.

Disclaimer: As a nutritionist I cannot advocate for this plan as it is low in calories and is NOT meant as a long term eating plan. This is purely a personal recollection of my own detox choice.

This is the lowdown on this detox.

Day 3!

Breakfast: Tea and a slice of bread. I chose protein bread because of the nutrients.

Lunch: Two hard boiled eggs, two slices of ham (I have ham that is very thinly sliced), fresh spinach and tomato. I made a salad with all of these items and it worked well.

Dinner: Soup! I made soup with the left-over spinach from dinner on day one, celery and a tomato. Also great that an apple was on the menu again 😊.

Notes:

– Woke up feeing great! One real perk that I’ve experienced is that my sleeping pattern has improved.

– I have really been enjoying my tea and coffee through the day. Even though the actual plan doesn’t clarify on how much is allowed, I have not stopped my intake.

Copenhagen Diet – Day 2

1 down, 12 days to go!

Weight lost: 5lb

Embarking on a strict and controlled diet such as this one is not for the faint hearted and as a nutritionist I do NOT advocate for this way of eating. That being said, I’ve committed myself to trying it and I never say no to a challenge. Thankfully my job doesn’t demand too much physical exertion and I have taken a step back with my exercise routine.

Here is this diet in a nutshell, also known as the Danish Hospital Diet.

I had a good weigh-in this morning and lost 5lb since my weigh-in yesterday, but I also know from experience that this is all water weight. Remember that losing weight slowly is always better as the result entails a long-lasting and steady loss.

Breakfast: Coffee (I usually drink coffee and tea through the day and I’m not changing that).

Lunch: Ham and fat-free yogurt.

Dinner: Steak and lettuce salad with lemon dressing and an apple.

Notes:

– I was very excited for an apple today because I really enjoy fruit!

– Slept like a log last night and really woke up feeling rested.

– Definitely hungry! My energy is really low today and I have been taking it super easy.
