AIP Challenge – Day 14

Following through is not my strong suit. I often cave in and have that tempting dessert or that cheesy pizza. This eating plan, however, was different. I challenged myself to eliminate everything that might cause inflammation, illness, sluggishness and irritation. Before I knew it, it was done and the benefits are endless.
Food I ate today:

  • Fruit
  • Chicken and vegetable soup

Recipes I want to try:

This challenge turned into a lifestyle change. I will write a book and create wonderful recipes… watch this space!
Update: Weighed in today and lost a total of 5kg in two weeks!!

AIP Challenge – Day 12

Since I started this challenge I’ve been fantasising about what I’d eat on day fifteen. Day one had the cravings for food that I usually don’t eat. Day two, three, four and five I pictured eating the perfect ooey, gooey chocolate cake with ice cream and chocolate caramel sauce. Then I started to miss the food that nourishes, the nuts, tomatoes, dark chocolate, seeds, feta, black pepper, EGGS!!!!!!! And now I actually don’t want any junk on day fifteen at all, but rather a lovely salad with olives, feta cheese, tomatoes, spinach, boiled eggs, mushrooms, avocado, tahina and lots of black pepper. Once this challenge is completed I might not be 100% AIP 100% of the time, but that will be the aim as I’ve never felt this GREAT! Lost 4kg in under two weeks, my energy levels are through the roof and I can’t get through the day without a solid workout. Wow.
Food I ate today:

  • Chicken stew made last night
  • Banana
  • Apple
  • Plum
  • Pineapple

Super recipes I can’t wait to try:

Tomorrow I plan on making a large batch of veggie soup and I’ll top it off with a little lemon juice, coconut cream and avocado :). Photos and recipe to follow.

AIP Challengh – Day 11

Meditation comes in all shapes and sizes. It could be something as simple as focused breathing, to yoga, exercise, reading a book, taking a bath or listening to calming music. I love taking a nice long jog to clear my head as it relaxes me and calms my anxiety.
Food I ate today:

  • Banana
  • Organic vanilla rooibos tea with coconut cream (what a yummy treat!).
  • Chicken with sweet potato and veggies in a coconut broth.

I woke up feeling incredibly tired and fatigued, weak and not really keen to get up. I did anyway and made some lunch which helped. Sometimes on an eating plan this restrictive, it’s easy to eat too little and not even realise it.
Nearly there!

AIP Challenge – Day 10

An eating disorder never packs up and walks out the door… It finds a quiet, lonely, dark corner where it can hide and wait. Mine resurfaces occasionally and convinces me that eating isn’t necessary, but I push it away and force my way through it. The craved compliments are fuel, the lack of compliments are motivation. The focus of AIP is to heal the body and make it whole again, but it has helped in healing my mind, too. Being in control, but in a healthy way, means a great deal.
Food I ate today:

  • Apple and banana bowl with coconut and honey.

  • Apple
  • Salmon, Avocado and Baby Carrot. Salad with Apple Cider Vinegar, Olive Oil and Pink Salt.

I’ve loved working out nearly daily and had so much energy!
Four more days!
